Hello. I am Pastor Roger Spencer, the pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. I have been in the ministry (The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, of which Good Shepherd is apart) since 1973 and serving Good Shepherd since 1983.
I received my Bachelors Degree at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania; my Master of Divinity Degree from Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia; and my Doctorate of Ministry Degree from Graduate Theological Foundation in South Bend, Indiana. I have been married to my childhood sweetheart Patricia for 37 years and we have 2 grown children and we are grandparents. During my tenure at Good Shepherd, the church has continued to be a vibrant, active and faithful congregation, worshiping God and serving others. Good Shepherd takes seriously, and so works on being open, welcoming and inclusive, sharing community in unity with one another. I enjoy being with, working with, leading and shepherding the people of Good Shepherd as we continue to evolve, incorporating changes that enhance the expression of our faith. We look beyond our church building on the corner of Rock Road and Ackerman Avenue to help and serve people in need wherever they may be. Our mission statement, developed by the members of Good Shepherd, is key to understanding our church: Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is a community of Christians called by God by our Baptism, sustained by God through the Word and Holy Communion and sent by God into the world as ambassadors. God's people of Good Shepherd Gather, Worship, Teach, and Serve. I invite you to visit Good Shepherd and consider being part of this community of believers. It will make a difference in your life.
