Good Shepherd Mission
We welcome all to our community of believers in Jesus Christ. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is a member of the New Jersey Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church has an active and varied ministry of worship, fellowship, social outreach and evangelism. If you are looking for a friendly place to worship, Good Shepherd will give you a church family that will support you as you live out your faith.
Good Shepherd is located at the traffic light at the corner of Rock Road and Ackerman Avenue. Parking lot and entrance to the church offices are located behind the church. For the immediate future, please
enter the parking lot from the entrance closest to the intersection of Rock and Ackerman.
Upcoming Events
In case you plan to make a year-end gift to Good Shepherd, please remember you must deliver your offering on or by December 31 in order to claim a charitable contribution for 2011. The church office is open today (Thursday) and tomorrow, until 2PM but closed on Saturday (12/31). Checks that are placed in the church offering during the first worship service in 2012 cannot qualify as a charitable contribution (and tax deduction) in 2011, even if the check is predated to 2011 -- or was actually written in 2011. However, checks that are written, mailed and postmarked in 2011 will be deductible in 2011 though they are not received by a church until 2012. As always, thank you for your stewardship and support of your church!

Church at Worship |
Good Shepherd is a liturgical church. We sing hymns and liturgy, we pray, we give thanks, we hear God's Word, and we receive Holy Communion every Sunday.
On the first Sunday of the month we have a Joyful Noise (contemporary) service with music by the Joyful Noise Makers. It is a different counterpoint to our regular services.
The sanctuary is air conditioned.
Nursery Care
Nursery care for children (infant--kindergarten) is provided on Sundays from 10:15 a.m. to 12 noon.
Handicapped Accessible
With the addition of our elevator, Good Shepherd is handicapped accessible.
Become a Member of Good Shepherd
We offer new member classes in the Fall and in the Spring. Led by Pastor Spencer, the sessions consist of background readings on what it means to be a Lutheran, two informal classes before worship, and one class and lunch after worship. The purpose of the class is to introduce you to Good Shepherd and your new church family. As part of this introduction, we ask members of our congregation to act as your "Good Shepherds," to help you get to know other members as well as show you how can contribute your time and talent to the congregation (for example, as a member of our choir, or by serving on one of our many committees).
If you're interested in joining our family in Christ, please contact the Church Office.
